The Anglo-Indian cultural tradition is strongly established locally, where the backcloth to Derby's' large and vibrant Indian and Pakistani community is the splendor of nearby Keddleston Hall, the stately home of Viscount Curzon, whose ancestor, Lord Curzon, was the Viceroy of all India from 1899 to 1905 in the heyday of the Raj.
Lord Curzon presided over the most magnificent state occasion of the twentieth century, the Great Dhurbar of 1903, held in honor of the coronation of King Edward VII . We aim to echo some of this splendor here at the Viceroy.
